Ok so my computer was broken and it took me a while to find another one so I’m just gonna send this one out before reading my other emails and take pics of them to read later. I will try to respond if I have enough time
TODAY WAS A WEEK AND A HALF
First of all, we went to a Portuguese temple session FINALLY and I actually understood it. It was super fun. I also found out I am the only girl in the CTM going to Brasilia so far, so it will just be me and a couple guys on the plane ride over. Two more weeks, I can’t wait!!
We went proselyting this week which was super hype. They dropped us off in the middle of Sao Paulo and just told us to go get contacts. The street was busy with entertainers and shops and stuff, reminded me of NYC. We talked to a lot of people (or I tried to lol), and got two contacts. The first guy was interested in our message and then said he didn’t want to give us his info so we let him go. Then, a couple minutes later we ran into him again and he asked if he could give us his email. IDK if he was serious but hey, it counts. The second dude was a taxi driver, who pulled over, waved us over, gave us his digits, and told us to call him. Not sure if that counts but he’s probably gonna get a call from the missionaries (haha)
There was also a girl we saw as we were proselyting who was crying. I went up to her because my companion gets too scared to talk and just gave her a hug. She told me what was wrong through her tears but I couldn’t understand. She cried on my shoulder forever but then said she wasn’t interested and she had already talked to missionaries when I asked if I could help anymore but tudo bem, I hope I helped her even though I had no clue what she was saying.
OH AND CAR CRASH GALORE
On the way to the temple we saw a motorcycle crash. Then we talked to the bois in our distrito and they said they saw the aftermath of a car crash and there was a whole dead guy there. THENNNN as we were proselyting, I was talking to some Elders for a sec and I hear this screech. I turn around just in time to see a truck flipping over in the middle of the highway. There was blood and fuel everywhere. One elder said a quick prayer, and it didn’t look like anyone was hurt enough to where it was scary, but still it was wild. Wasn’t expecting that. I’m surprised since these aren’t the worst drivers I’ve seen. They’re crazy, but not even that bad but we’ve already seen soo many accidents. Anyways, that was wild.
We had to fast and it was rough because they don’t feed us dinner sat night or breakfast sunday so yikes, but it was good. It has rained all of this week and I have been FREEZING, thank goodness you made me bring sweaters mom. We haven’t had any atividade fisica this week and I’ve been dying to just go for a run or something.
Here’s the laundry issue. The laundry here sucks, no other way to put it. This week was especially eventful because as some NOVO missionarios were washing, their clothes either turned up blue, orange, or brown. I’m talking about their whites. Something wrong with the plumbing I guess. So since we had laundry that day, we just hand washed ours which took forever but that’s okay, I’m glad that they are clean.
My roommates are amazing and I love them but they are all going boy crazy in here (haha). I’m glad I don’t worry about that.
Also, santa claus here is called daddy christmas. Take that as you may.
Boa Noite!
