Email Sent Out From Mom

Hello!

Denise here...  Anna was not able to access email today because she has spent her P'day in the hospital, she is throwing up again :(     She skyped me from the mission home late this afternoon where she and her companion will be staying for a couple of days.   President and Sister Cooper just want to get her stomach issues resolved - so they have been talking with the mission doctor and will be having her meet with a private doctor in a clinic on Wednesday, to see if they can get things worked out.

She is in good spirits, loving the mission, and has had a good week back in Sao Sebastiao; an area she previously spent 3 transfers in.  She said it was nice to be able to reconnect with her investigators and she and her new companion met the goal of 140 invites this week.

Appreciate all your prayers and support for my girl!  She feels the love and for that I am grateful.

De Volta Em Sao Sebastiao

This week ended really well for the most part, we baptized!

Lindenbergue and Yasmin are a father and daughter who are super cute and went to church last week. It was such a miracle because we started teaching them last Saturday, then on Wednesday they told us that they wanted to be baptized. We were pumped, finalized it on Friday, and then interviewed and baptized on Saturday! Never met investigators so gold as these. She is only 8 but was so excited to be baptized. Him too. We were very very happy.
I also gave training this week in the Quad Zone Conference and my hair is now back to normal so that’s good. Was less stressful than I thought, but that’s cause Sister Shields is the best.

Last P’day we found a Ben and Jerry’s store. We feasted to say the least.

This transfer ended and it was really sad to see a bunch of Elders from my zone going home...and then we got the phone call and I found out I was going BACK to Sao Sebastiao for my fourth transfer there. I am now with Sister Salazar who is from Utah, and she has 5 months on the mission. I feel super weird, I have had no Brasilian companions thus far...But she is half mexican so she speaks super super well in Spanish and Portuguese. The mission is weird for sure haha...I am really gonna miss Sister Jarrett, Ribeiro, and Shields. Taguatinga was super fun, but it’s all part of the mission.

Semana 11 For Sister Jarrett

Oi!
This week started off as 'semana 11', or week 11 for Sister Jarrett in her training. This means that she is the Senior Companion for the whole week, had to make all the decisions, answer all the questions, plan everything...basically do everything alone. It rocked haha (for me). But she actually did super well!

Unfortunately thou, this week was kinda hard, poor Sister Jarrett.  Started off with our investigator Joao Francisco's son telling us we can't go to his house because he's sick and we are taking advantage. He was drunk and yelling a bunch of stuff at us so we got out of there, but on Sunday Joao started to hear better so we stopped by and ate some pao de queijo, typical. Also, it turns out that another of our investigators is like the substitute Pastor of the Baptist Church, so he couldn't go to church on sunday lol. But we ended up going to the Baptist Church Sunday night (not his) and that was a fun experience!

A representation of our week: Sister Jarrett decided on wednesday that she was gonna be healthy. We went to the store, bought a bunch of fruits and vegetables and that stuff, including almond milk, which we actually found here in Brasil!! But then we had a hard day and she ended the night eating like a pizza, chocolate, burger, etc. So that lasted a good couple of hours lol.

We went on splits with the Sister Trainers this week and Sister Ribeiro and I ended up buying about 1,000kgs of peanut butter!! Not sure how that happened or why I like peanut butter now, I swear my taste buds have changed so drastically on the mission.

Last P'day Sister Olsen showed up in our area randomly! So that was such a great surprise.   I'm thinking she is going to be the New Sister Leader Trainer so that'll be awesome! and.. hopefully i'll get to see her more haha.

Love you guys
